Automation Tester – Chester – Up to £50k

On behalf of our growing client based in Chester, we are recruiting several talented Automation Testers. As Automation Tester, you will be responsible for automating the testing of web-based and API projects based on the requirements delivered from the business, ensuring that functionality of the system developed in house is fully covered in the automation test suite.

The Automation Tester will be responsible for:

Actively participate in team-based agile ceremonies and work closely with software engineers, product owners, architects and designers.
Create, maintain, deliver and document automated test suites built to validate the specification at multiple layers of application to a high standard.
Reduce risk through clear analysis of designs & stories, tailored reporting and clear line management and stakeholder escalation.
Identify and manage defects within a project with a view of preventing customer-facing issues.

The Automation Tester will have the following:

Working experience of API automation (REST or SOAP) using Ready API or similar tools, RestAssured or similar libraries.
Expertise in building/implementing POM’s, externally data driving tests, keyword-driven assertions using Selenium, package management tools (Maven)
Working experience using Java and test automation framework runners, such as Junit, Cucumber.
Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test practices within them using; Azure DevOps, Docker, Jenkins, AWS or Powershell.
Working practice of version control and code repositories (GIT)
Working experience developing the automation scripts for an end to end scenarios and maintaining the automation suites
