Data Governance Lead – Manchester
On behalf of our award-winning client based in Manchester, we are recruiting for an experienced Data Governance Lead. As Data Governance Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and long-term strategy data governance ensuring strategic change, and BAU change data quality and governance is delivered on time and cost.
The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for:
- Maximize the value of our client’s technology estate, operating best Data Governance practice processes to ensure they remain current, perform against data policies and standards, secure and fit for purpose, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met, whilst ensuring the business receives a high level of service and platforms remain operational.
- You will drive evolutionary change, coach, and drive forward new behaviours, a vision, build, develop the team in support with the Head of Data Operations.
- To be responsible for defining, embedding, and maintaining data governance policies, artefacts, and controls in data solutions, in line with legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide data governance practices, demonstrating effectiveness for the integrity of data.
- Oversight and reporting of risks caused because of ineffective management of data throughout the SDLC lifecycle
- Responsible and drive adoption and compliance with data governance applications and technologies for data administration, quality, and audit
The Data Governance Lead will have the following:
- Significant experience in a senior data role.
- Good experience with all aspects of data engineering, visualization, analytics, and machine learning.
- Good understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps, ITIL, Azure Synapse, Databricks, PowerBI, Data Factory, HD Insights, Python Sparks, and have a strong IT service background.
- An understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement tools, thinking and methodologies
- Experience in defining data governance strategic and operational plans.
- Experience in designing, deploying, maintaining, and developing data governance systems and controls.
- Experience in creating and implementing data policies and procedures.
