Data Product Owner – Manchester/Hybrid Working - £70k

On behalf of our industry-leading client based in Manchester, we are recruiting for a Data Product Owner. As Data Product Owner, you will take overall responsibility for the successful identification, prioritisation and delivery of data products and services in line with business needs and expectations for their products.

The Data Product Owner will be responsible for:

  • Develop and own the vision and roadmap for your product, created in tight consultation and agreement with your business stakeholders, and one that balances feature development with product improvement.
  • Take full responsibility for the requirements, management, and delivery of items in your product backlog, ensuring a clear, transparent, prioritised backlog.
  • Effectively prioritise and coordinate the work carried out by your product team, considering value, delivery feasibility, and time.
  • Build exceptional working relationships with your Product customers, working from their perspective to represent their needs to your product team and the broader D&A function.
  • Align your product team’s plans with wider change delivery plans across other Data and Analytics products to ensure optimal delivery of data change.
  • Drive the innovative use of data to support the achievement of business ambitions, bringing the art of possible thinking, and early prototypes to demonstrate value.

The Data Product Owner will have the following:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to build deep trust-based relationships with colleagues.
  • Resilient and comfortable making difficult decisions around competing priorities particularly.
  • A broad data background, across, data requirement elicitation, data visualization, data engineering, and data governance, with likely deep experience in one or more disciplines.
  • Excellent understanding and experience of working with visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qliksense etc.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining roadmaps for Data & Analytics functions.
  • Background in creating data user stories as part of agile delivery methods.
  • Use of delivery management tools such as Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Jira.
  • A good grounding in agile software change practices, ideally in a data function.
