Infrastructure Engineer – Manchester

On behalf of our industry-leading client based in Manchester, we are recruiting for an enthusiastic Infrastructure Engineer. As Infrastructure Engineer, you will ensure the stable operation and resilience of the organisation’s IT Infrastructure.

The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:

  • The continued development and delivery of the IT Data Operations support delivery.
  • Engaging in the support and delivery of a resilient cloud infrastructure that supports the business needs across all jurisdictions and platforms
  • Support out of hours upgrades/implementations and testing in conjunction with Business Change, Technology, and other stakeholders
  • Develop, implement, establish, and manage a world-class technical function
  • Responsibility and operational of highly scalable, secure, and available infrastructure platforms, ensuring that they can operate 24x7
  • Standard system administration duties including server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, penetration testing remediation etc.

The Infrastructure Engineer will have the following:

  • Experience/understanding of all elements of data management
  • Understanding of technology areas (Microsoft Azure DevOps, Azure Synapse, Databricks, PowerBI, Data Factory, HD Insights, Python Sparks, and have a strong IT service background.
  • Experience in Penetration and Vulnerability test remediation
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, identifying root causes and offering solutions
  • Strong administration of Windows Domains and Windows Server technologies
  • Strong administration of Azure Cloud and Data Centers infrastructure
  • Strong network and firewall knowledge
