IT Service Engineer – Stockport – Circa £35k
On behalf of our growing client based in Stockport, we are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic IT Service Engineer. As an IT Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in improving the IT Support for the services team, maintaining clients’ data systems, client’s systems commissioning and general IT support.
The IT Service Engineer will be responsible for:
- Primarily focusing on providing 1st line IT technical support for the Services team with networking, VPN, databases, monitoring clients’ custom PCs, and providing a high-quality IT support service.
- Procurement and supporting clients’ monitoring systems globally.
- Primary contact for a client with network or monitoring systems-related support.
- Configure, maintain, and support all WAN technologies including VPN, routers, and firewalls.
- Performing installation of the server, network equipment, customized-built Linux PCs, and support visits on customer sites.
The IT Service Engineer will have the following:
- Previous experience as an IT Service/Support Engineer or similar role
- Excellent Linux skills, preferably Debian Linux- network configuration, package management, Apache, BIND, DHCPD, DNS, Open VPN.
- Strong experience with infrastructure admin, networking, and security protocols.
- Familiar with deployment tools.
- Ability to follow process & look for continuous improvements
