IT Support Manager - Birmingham - Hybrid Working
We seek an experienced IT Support Manager to lead our client's IT team, focusing on internal operations and collaboration systems. This role is essential for maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure, which supports domestic and international offices and remote workers. Our client's cloud-based environment uses Google Workspace, Zoom, Cisco, Palo Alto, Okta, and Jamf, with a primary user base on Mac systems and a transition from Windows underway. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned IT professional to contribute meaningfully. This person will essentially be leading the company's IT department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage internal IT, networking, and cloud-hosted services
- Create and maintain systems architecture documentation
- Ensure security of data, networks, and backup systems
- Lead hardware and software upgrades
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues strategically
- Assess new technologies and conduct cost/benefit analyses
- Oversee IT budgeting and manage the IT Helpdesk System
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in senior IT roles, including network administration and troubleshooting
- Expertise in managing Cisco network environments
- Familiarity with the Apple ecosystem, managing macOS and iOS devices with Jamf
- Experience with Google Workspace, Okta, Atlassian products, Zoom, and other cloud IT systems
- Proficiency in cloud-based IT service management, particularly AWS infrastructure
- Strong understanding of VPN, DNS, DHCP, LANs/VLANs, and firewall management (preferably Palo Alto)
- Skilled in IT ticketing systems management and record-keeping
Desirable Qualifications:
- Apple certifications (e.g., ACSP), Jamf training, or equivalent
- Okta Essentials training and certification
- CCNP and/or CCNA certification or similar
- Linux qualifications/certifications
- Knowledge of ISO 27001 and other security standards
- ITIL V3 Foundation certification
- Experience managing Zoom services
