Lead Software Engineer – Manchester – Circa £75k
On behalf of our rapidly expanding client based in Manchester, we are recruiting for a talented Lead Engineer. As Lead Engineer, you will contribute to the continued success of the business through the design, build, and implementation of the technology platform, within their Digital Servicing Squad.
The Duties of Lead Software Engineer will be:
- Develop new features and customer facing products that delight and inspire using the right solutions.
- Lead a squad of engineers, responsible for the customer facing experiences.
- Establish yourself as a product expert, providing technical leadership and ultimately acting as the technical authority for key decisions.
- Contribute to the development of the application and hardware strategy as well as the implementation of new features.
- Work closely with the product and delivery functions to release features on the right schedule.
- Drive continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software as well as value to end customers as early as possible.
The Lead Software Engineer will have:
- Strong expertise in Java
- Deep understanding of app development to launch new app features across iOS and Android
- Native (IOS / Android) and/or React Native
- Strong web experience building customer focused sites
- Developing highly available, performant RESTful APIs
- Agile methodologies
- Using TDD (or similar) to deliver high quality solutions
