Security Engineer – Manchester – Up to £90k

On behalf of our rapidly expanding client based in Manchester, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Security Engineer. As Security Engineer you will report to the CISO, where you will run all aspects of Technical Security Services, Security Risk Management, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management, and more.

 The Security Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Use vulnerability, incident response, threat hunting, and monitoring platform-tools/techniques to ensure the delivery of effective, integrated 24x7 Security Operations service.
  • Operate, improve, and continuously develop the Security Operations framework and tools to keep aligned with the ever-changing technology and threat landscape.
  • Perform cyber and security investigations, incident response, malware analysis, forensics, and coordinate with specialist third-party suppliers as required.
  • Able to support the vulnerability identification, remediation, and management reporting processes with IT squads and suppliers to manage risks/prevent the exploitation of vulnerable software and systems.
  • Use Security processes and technologies to manage the services provided and provide a continuous training and testing program of operational controls (Red/Blue team) and Cyber incident and Crisis response readiness (Playbooks, Crisis tests, etc.).
  • Identify & communicate information security risks relating to the Security operations services, incidents, and events advising and guiding senior management on the threat management and response capabilities required to protect the organization.

The Security Engineer will have/be the following:

  • Demonstrate an extensive working knowledge of AWS or Azure Cloud Platforms
  • Must be able to work with the squads daily to help shape the technical capabilities, tools, and development processes to ensure they implemented in accordance with the organization’s security requirements & standards
  • Be able to define security requirements and use cases that were required to be delivered by the squads.
  • Experience of DevSecOps 
  • Good working knowledge of:
    • Networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP
    • Web applications
    • Windows Server
    • Server Virtualization
    • Identity Stores (AD etc.)
