Senior Cloud DBA – Remote – Up to £55k
On behalf of our industry-leading client based in Bolton, we are recruiting for a talented Senior Cloud DBA. As Senior Cloud DBA, you will play a key role within the Data Platform capability in our clients newly formed Data Engineering, Analytics & AI function.
The Senior Cloud DBA will be responsible for:
- Work as a senior technical member of the DBA team
- Expertly administer and manage mission-critical, complex, and high-volume Database Platforms in a 24/7/365 environment
- Develop and maintain large and complex SQL codebases
- Ensure that the Database Platform is reliable and available 24/7/365
- Ensure the Database Platform is reliably backed up and protected (including disaster recovery) to mitigate the risk of data loss or corruption and to ensure business continuity
- Work closely with the Infrastructure, DevSecOps and Information Security teams
The Senior Cloud DBA will have the following:
- Expert knowledge and proven ability to fully administer databases in AWS and Azure
- Expert knowledge of database high availability, clustering, disaster recovery, very high transaction volumes, and performance tuning
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server (multiple versions)
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Shell and Bash scripts, etc.
- Experience working in a Senior Operational Database Administration capacity
- Expert knowledge and proven ability to fully administer and manage mission-critical and complex database environments
