Senior IT & Web Support Engineer – Oldham – Up to £35k
On behalf of our growing client based in Oldham, we are recruiting for a motivated Senior IT & Web Support Engineer. The Senior IT & Web Support Engineer will be working as 2nd/3rd line IT and Web support engineer and provide a full ‘cradle to grave’ case resolution response to users.
The Senior IT & Web Support Engineer will be responsible for:
- To provide high standards of 2nd/3rd line support for inbound user support enquires and provide an excellent level of customer service.
- To work alongside our dedicated 1st line IT Support Engineer and provide an escalation point to resolve cases as required.
- Owning, managing, and resolving cases logged on the IT service desk, providing users with regular updates and case resolutions.
- Provide 1st/2nd/3rd line IT support to staff in relation to both hardware and software issues based on incoming support requests and ongoing projects.
- Work closely with the IT Manager to resolve more complex issues and projects as and when required.
- Collaborate with external software, hardware, and service providers in troubleshooting, developing, and implementing technical solutions.
The Senior IT & Web Support Engineer will have the following:
- Excellent working knowledge of Linux, Command-Line, Magento, WordPress, PHP, MySQL, Apache, Litespeed, cPanel and WHM to maintain the companies hosted web servers.
- You will also require the ability to read and code in web languages including PHP, JavaScript etc to be able to make small amendments as required.
- Ability to work logically, with a calm manner when under pressure to troubleshoot and resolve problems, both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritise your inbound workload daily and work towards deadlines based on the company's needs.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Multi-site Windows 10 desktop estate, Office 365, Exchange Online, Windows Server 2008-2019, Telephony Systems, MDM, VPN’s, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy etc.
