Software Development Manager – South Manchester / Cheshire

On behalf of our rapidly growing client based in South Manchester, we are recruiting for an enthusiastic Development Manager. As Software Development Manager, you will focus on providing successful software release deliveries for Software and mobile applications, whilst undertaking day to day management of the software development team.

The Software Development Manager will be responsible for:

Provide strong team leadership including throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Management and leadership of a distributed agile software development team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Understanding projects and tasks from a high and detailed level
Management of multiple priorities and deadlines
Ensure a strong cohesive team through leadership, on boarding of new personnel, setting expectations, and providing constructive performance feedback
Encourage innovative solutions around business asks and manage risks to create predictability of software releases while improving quality of the code
Guide team in following best practices and to keep improving coding standards
Build capabilities and functionality in application which is scalable and extensible

The Development Manager will have/be:

Experience leading software engineers as a Development Manager
Hands on software development experience with ReactJS, JavaScript, NodeJS, SQL,
Experienced in using Agile Scrum/Kanban for software delivery
Experience using REST API, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, AWS, Postgres SQL
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong project management skills
Strong problem solving/analysis skills
