SQL Developer X 2
On behalf of our growing client based near Manchester, we are recruiting an enthusiastic SQL Developer. As SQL Developer, you will work in a small team, developing valuable data insight. You’ll have proven experience manipulating data from the data source (SQL) to other Microsoft products (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS).
The SQL Developer will be responsible for:
- Perform troubleshooting of Data warehouse performance issues. Optimise poorly running queries.
- Review database change scripts and offer feedback and coaching to others where required
- Contribute to the Data warehouse design and development standards
- Work with developers on the most efficient Data warehouse database designs (tables, data types, stored procedures, indexes etc)
- Assessing the impact of changes, ensuring the availability and performance of systems are not affected
- Pro-actively identify better ways of working and efficiency savings in the team
- Own and maintain development and testing SQL Server environments
- Azure or AWS experience
The SQL Developer will have the following:
- Good technical skills in SQL Server Administration (desirable SQL Server 2012 onwards) including monitoring access, security, and managing availability and backups.
- Experienced in monitoring and analysing performance issues
- Knowledge of managing a large-scale data warehouse with large transactional volumes
- Good knowledge and experience using ETL
- Understand \maintain and suggest SQL Indexes
- Be comfortable in backing up and restoring SQL databases
- Ability to update and maintain large spreadsheets.
- Ability to analyse, think logically, and work to tight deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to report findings at all levels within the organisation.
