Technical Support Engineer – Stockport – Up to £35k
On behalf of our growing client based in Stockport, we are recruiting for an experienced Technical Support Engineer. As Technical Support Engineer, you will be expected to have strong 365 migration and Azure experience.
The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for:
- Pick up service desk tickets as directed by the Team Leader
- Pick up escalations from Tier 1 Engineers
- Liaising directly with customers, gather information, problem solve and escalate as necessary
- Office 365 admin and configuration (Email, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
- Managing users in Active Directory and maintaining Group Policy
- Application installs, configuration, support, and training
- Ensuring compliance to security protocols
- Escalate tickets to Tier 3 detailing a methodical approach to problem-solving
The Technical Support Engineer will have the following:
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g. DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, CIDR, etc.)
- Windows 10 installation and configuration
- Windows Server 2012 R2 onwards - Active Directory and Group Policy management and maintenance
- Support / Building desktops and laptops
- Hardware support for Servers
- Administering Routers / Access Points (e.g. DrayTek)
- Backup software administration (Ahsay/Veeam)
- Knowledge of AV products (ESET, Sophos)
- Understanding and some prior exposure to Virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, VMware or Citrix)
